Belleville breaks through to win first MHSAA Division 1 championship
No. 2-ranked Belleville pounded No. 4-ranked Rochester Adams 55-33 to win its first MHSAA Division 1 championship. Freshman Bryce Underwood tossed five touchdown passes for 284 yards and ran for a touchdown
and 62 yards to lead the Tigers. Jeremiah Caldwell caught three touchdown passes for 204 yards. Deshawn Lee and Kevin Simes added touchdown receptions.

Undefeated Warren De La Salle Collegiate soars to Division 2 championship
No. 1-ranked Warren De La Salle Collegiate left no doubt beating No. 3-ranked Traverse City Central 41-14 to win the MHSAA Division 2 championship and finish its season undefeated. Junior quarterback Brady Drogosh (14-19, 142 yards) tossed three touchdown passes and ran for 174 yards and a 45-yard touchdown to lead the Pilots to its first title since 2018. Junior Triston Nichols caught two touchdown passes (20 yards and 13 yards). Senior
Alton McCullum caught a 24-yard touchdown pass. Sophomore Rhett Roeser and senior DeNiro Johnson
both rushed for one-yard touchdowns. De La Salle opened the game with a 41-0 lead. Central scored two late touchdowns against the De La Salle reserves for the final score.

Detroit Martin Luther King Jr. rallies to win Division 3 championship
No. 1-ranked Detroit Martin Luther King Jr. held off No. 2-ranked DeWitt 25-21 to win the MHSAA Division 3 championship. Down 21-19, King scored the game-winning touchdown on Sterling Anderson Jr.’s three-yard touchdown with 8:22 left. Terrence Brown rushed for 51-yard and six-yard touchdowns. Brown finished with 113 yards rushing and a key interception in the fourth
quarter. Kenny Merrieweather returned an interception 45 yards for a touchdown. Dante Moore passed for 228 yards. Chansey Willis Jr. had 111 yards receiving. Karl Williams and Blake Bailiff stopped DeWitt's Tommy McIntosh short of the end zone on fourth and goal for a goal line stand with 2:34 remaining.

Chelsea comes back from 28 points down to win Division 4 championship
Hunter Shaw kicked a 33-yard field goal as time expired to lift No. 1 Chelsea to a stunning and record-setting 55-52 victory over No. 3-ranked Hudsonville Unity Christian to win the MHSAA Division 4 championship and finish the season undefeated. Chelsea opened the game up 14-0, only to see Unity Christian score the next 32 points before Shaw kicked a field goal late in the second quarter. Unity Christian led 38-17 at halftime and 45-17 early in the third quarter. But Chelsea would not
quit, scoring two touchdowns in the quarter. Still the lead seemed insurmountable as Unity Christian led 52-31 at the start of the fourth quarter. Chelsea scored the next 21
points to tie the game with 4:43 left in the fourth, setting
up the game-winning field goal. Chelsea’s Lucas Dunn tossed six touchdowns, five to Lucas Hanifan and one to Cole Munson. Trenton Hill rushed for 149 yards and a touchdown. The 107 points was a finals record.

Grand Rapids Catholic Central powers to third-straight championship
No. 1-ranked Grand Rapids Catholic Central knocked off No. 3-ranked Marine City 31-7 to win the MHSAA Division 5 championship. It was Catholic Central’s third-straight championship and its fifth in six years. Catholic Central won the Division 5 championship in 2020 and the Division 4 title in 2019, 2017, and 2016. John
Passinault passed for 221 yard and two touchdowns (59 and 17 yards) to Nolan Ziegler. Jack Rellinger rushed for a two-yard touchdown. Jack Klafeta returned a fumble 34 yards for a touchdown. John Meyer kicked a 29-yard field goal.

No. 1-ranked Hudson rallied to beat No. 5-ranked Beal City 14-7 to win the MHSAA Division 8 championship and finish its season undefeated. Senior Nick Kopin rushed for two touchdowns (six yards and two yards) and
131 yards to lead the Tigers, who gained 282 yards on the ground. Kopin also forced a key fumble in the fourth quarter and led the Tigers' defense with six tackles.
