   Catholic High School League powerhouse Detroit Loyola shut out Clinton Township Clintondale 31-0 on Saturday, Nov. 7, in a Michigan High School Athletic Association Division 7, District 54 football semifinal at Madison Heights Bishop Foley.

   Loyola improved to 7-1 overall with the victory and advances to face CHSL rival Bishop Foley on Saturday, Nov. 14, at 7 p.m. at Foley. Foley (7-1) edged Detroit Central (5-3) 34-30 in its semifinal game.

 

 Loyola led 12-0 at halftime.

   Loyola opened the playoffs with a forfeit victory over New Haven (0-7). Foley edged Madison Heights Madison 27-24 in its opener.

   Loyola’s only loss of the season came against Division 1 Detroit Catholic Central 45-14 in the CHSL Bishop Division championship game on Oct. 24.
