    Detroit Pershing defeated Detroit Public School League rival Detroit Osborn 22-0 in football action on Friday, Oct. 8, at Pershing.

   The win clinched a spot in the PSL Gold Division championship game on Friday, Oct. 15, at 5 p.m. against undefeated Detroit Central. Central (5-0/7-0) beat Detroit Frederick Douglass 1-0 by forfeit on Friday. The championship game will be held at Detroit Collegiate Preparatory at Northwestern.

   Osborn fell to 3-2/4-3 with the loss.

    The Doughboys currently have a playoff point average of 37.429, comfortably qualifying for the Michigan High School Athletic Association Division 6 playoffs.

Detroit Martin Luther King Jr. 57, Detroit Renaissance 7: King's victory sets up a PSL Blue Division championship matchup with rival Detroit Cass Technical on Friday, Oct. 15, at 7:30 p.m. at Detroit Collegiate Preparatory at Northwestern. Cass Tech beat Detroit Western International by forfeit on Friday. King edged Cass Tech 41-34 on Sept. 10. Cass Tech defeated King in the 2020 PSL championship.

Detroit Collegiate Preparatory at Northwestern 28, Detroit Denby 14: Marshawn Brown had 18 carries for 211 yards and two touchdowns and Robert Fields had one touchdown catch.

Detroit Mumford 44, Detroit Communication & Media Arts 0: Jeyloe Moore had 150 passing yards and two passing touchdowns, Malik Cleveland had 115 yards rushing and three touchdowns, and Justin Cooperwood had nine tackles with two sacks for Mumford.
