   Detroit Edison Public School Academy Early College of Excellence held off Durand 28-26 on Saturday, Nov. 7, in a Michigan High School Athletic Association Division 5, District 48 football semifinal at Edison.

   Edison improved to 6-2 with the victory and advances to face undefeated and Charter School Conference East rival Warren Michigan Collegiate (8-0) in the district final at Madison Heights Bishop Foley on

Friday, Nov. 13, at 7 p.m.

   Edison led 20-8 at halftime.

   Edison downed Algonac (1-6) 48-6 in its playoff opener on Oct. 31. Durand (5-3) shut out Detroit Collegiate Preparatory at Northwestern (2-5) 50-0 to advance to the district semifinal.

   Michigan Collegiate beat Edison 34-6 on Oct. 16.
