   Detroit Loyola shut out Catholic High School League AA Division rival Bloomfield Hills Cranbrook Kingswood 16-0 on Friday, Oct. 4, at Hazel Park High School.

   Loyola improved to 2-1 in division and 3-3 overall, keeping their Michigan High School Athletic Association playoff hopes alive.

   After a scoreless first half, sophomore quarterback Anthony Garrett scored on a one-yard keeper and junior Malik Marable rushed for a two-

 

point conversion to put Loyola ahead 8-0. Sophomore Jason Hardy's interception set up the drive.

   Senior Meje Carter-Allison tackled a Cranbrook player for a safety and junior Marquez Henderson rushed for on a one-yard  touchdown for the final margin.

   Loyola plays CHSL AA rival University of Detroit Jesuit (4-2/3-0) on Friday, Oct. 11, at Hazel Park High School.
